OCTOBER IN PARADISE BENEFITS HOMELESS-2009
Our 15th Annual “October in Paradise” dinner, dance, and auction event has been scheduled for Thursday, October 1st, 2009 from 5:30 to 10:00 PM at the lovely Paradise Ridge Winery. October in Paradise offers a delightful evening of dinner, dancing, and live and silent auctions. The winery offers a magnificent view over Santa Rosa from it’s lovely site at 4545 Thomas Lake Harris Drive, Santa Rosa. This annual event funds the Sonoma County Task Force for the Homeless, a coalition of service providers, businesses, religious congregations and individuals working to end homelessness in Sonoma County.
Those of you who have enjoyed the wine, food, entertainment, live dance band, and great live and silent auction items before, not to mention the beautiful view from the newly remodeled Paradise Ridge Winery, will want to save that date! Those who may not yet have attended are warmly invited to join us for a great evening of fun and camaraderie.
The evening begins with hors d'oeuvres, many of the county’s finest wines, a live jazz ensemble, and our annual Spirit of Service and the Marijke Byck Spirit of Community Awards. A spirited live auction with our celebrity auctioneer will be followed by a sunset dinner from noted local chefs, with quality wines from area vintners. Our silent auction offers wine, art, vacation getaways, and other treasures. Enjoy delicious desserts and dancing to a great R& B dance band with a magnificent view overlooking Santa Rosa.
If you care about ending homelessness, this is a great opportunity to support our progress toward effective solutions. We seek the participation of our whole community. Businesses or individuals may become event sponsors, donate an item for our auctions or raffle, buy a block of tickets, or just attend and have a wonderful evening. Sponsors and donors are acknowledged in our program.
Funds raised enable the Task Force to help prevent homelessness, and to educate, advocate, foster collaborative projects to assist homeless people, and act as a catalyst and leadership resource on homeless issues. Sponsorships, donations of auction items or cash, and ticket orders are warmly welcomed.
Event tickets are $70 in advance and $75 at the door.
