Sonoma County Fund For The Homeless

The Sonoma County Fund for the Homeless is a way for concerned people to contribute to ending homelessness and help those without shelter in Sonoma County, without having to independently assess where the most critical current service needs may be. Gifts to the Fund for the Homeless are used solely to support direct service programs.

Since 2003, the Task Force has been allocating money from the Fund to support the Voicemail Project to provide private voicemail boxes to homeless people countywide so that they may receive messages related to finding housing or jobs. We also provide a $500 grant from the Fund to the agency of the person selected each year to receive the Spirit of Service award at our October in Paradise annual benefit. When at least $10,000 is available in the Fund, we issue a simple Request for Proposals and distribute the available funds to direct service agencies that request support for critical needs.

A check made out to the Task Force with the notation that it is for the Fund may be used only for that purpose and not for Task Force operations. Such designations may also be made on donations slips or notes used with credit cards.

Or you could send your check with the notation that it is to go to the Fund for the Homeless to the Task Force on the Homeless, 100 Sebastopol Road, Santa Rosa, CA 95448. If you would like to use a credit card offline, you may call the office at 575-4494 and request a donation slip, write us a note, or just leave your credit card number, expiration date, and amount you would like to contribute with the Task Force staff. Homelessness is a community problem. It will take all of us together to solve it. Contributions to the Sonoma County Fund for the Homeless are one productive way for you to participate in this effort.
