You can contribute to the Task Force on the Homeless, or to the non-profit or school of your choice, at no cost to you, and support local merchants who care about our community while you 're at it! CommunitySmart partners with local non-profits and schools, and with businesses willing to donate a portion of their sale to organizations pre-designated by each customer who presents their card. Finally! - a way to shop and give at the same time - automatically!
It 's really easy. You simply get a free CommunitySmart card, and designate one or two participating local organizations to receive the benefits as you use the card in your normal shopping. The merchant donates all the funds. When shopping at a CommunitySmart merchant, you just swipe your card, and the Task Force or your other designated agency receives a cash donation based on a percentage of the sale. The percentage varies with the type of business. The program is completely free to you and to your chosen nonprofit.
To receive your CommunitySmart card, apply online at www.communitysmart.com, or call the Task Force office at 575-4494, and we 'll mail you a very simple form to send in. You can choose a Community Card to use in conjunction with your own credit card, check, or cash as you shop, or can apply for a CommunitySmart Debit or Credit Card with Bonus Rewards, issued through Summit State Bank. You should receive your card quickly. Then all you need to do is remember to use it when you see the CommunitySmart logo at over 160 participating local merchants. Buy only what you need, or splurge. You can feel good using your CommunitySmart card to help the Task Force or your chosen non-profit.
